Do I get an opportunity to find out whether I feel I can work with you before making any commitments?

I offer a half-price initial consultation in order for us both to establish whether we can work together. This does not apply for the Quit Smoking and Weight Management as they are fixed programmes, but even with those you will have the opportunity to speak with me on the telephone in order to decide whether you want to proceed.

How many sessions will I need?

How many sessions you will need depends on the nature of the challenge or difficulty.
  • Smoking is one two-hour session.
  • Straightforward phobias with no complications will take four sessions.
  • The weight programme follows a fixed five sessions at fortnightly intervals.
  • With these exceptions we will need to discuss the duration of your treatment. I will offer you my expert advice and you obviously have the right to disagree if you feel that what I suggest is either too much or too little.
  • Most issues of anxiety, self confidence, undesirable habits such as nail biting can be resolved relatively quickly in about 4-8 sessions.
  • Life change and career development will take approximately 6-12 sessions
  • Serious anxiety, anger or depression can take around 8-12 sessions.
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and trauma recovery can take from 12-20 sessions.
The above are generalisations and it is important for me to take a case history and talk directly with you before fixing a length of time.

What is the contract?

During the initial consultation we will discuss duration and both sign a contract for a fixed number of sessions. Where the treatment is likely to carry on for many weeks, the initial contract will be for the first few weeks, after which there will be a review. This is part of a continuous review process that is integral to my method of working.

Is everything confidential?

Your entire treatment is completely confidential. You will never be named by me to another individual and if someone who knows you asks about you, I will not divulge anything that you say in the session.

What can you help with?

The following is a list of some of the areas where I can help. It is by no means exclusive, so do ask if you don't see your own concern listed.

Is there easy parking or public transport near to you?

All three locations have off-road parking.
The Stanton Drew location has private parking with no space shortage.
Daisy Healing Centre at Glastonbury is just next door to the St John's Road public car park, which charges for parking.
Ironically the location with the closest bus stop (Stanton Drew) also has the least frequent service, but all three premises are accessible by public bus.

Do you have disabled access?

The best location for disabled access is Whitchurch Health Centre.

What if you don't offer what I'm looking for?

I am always happy to discuss your problem and will let you know if it is something I can help with. I also have many other contacts who offer certain specialist hypnotherapy processes which I don't, such as hypno-birthing, hypno-analgesia, and serious sexual issues. So do get in touch. I am in the process of putting together a links page for services which I don't offer.
